A Statement on DEI-
The professional sphere has not historically been conducive to the embracement of the values of DEI-diversity, equity, and inclusion. As we progress, the Gamma Iota Chapter at Loyola University Chicago is committed to encouraging membership of individuals of all identities and professional paths.
We have a collective responsibility to foster an inclusive environment notwithstanding surrounding systems’ failure to do so. In Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional preparatory organization, DEI is valued, needed, and celebrated. When adopted and embraced, these values have a profound impact on the experiences of Brothers and encourages membership of university students of all backgrounds. Such instilled values equips Brothers with the necessary people skills to thrive in all future work endeavors. We take responsibility for ensuring that each member of Alpha Kappa Psi feels important and valued regardless of their ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, gender, background, or religion. We do not tolerate any behavior or practice that violates these values.
Our differences unite us and should be celebrated. We acknowledge the progress we have made and are committed to furthering our efforts to promote inclusivity. Alpha Kappa Psi will continue to implement practices that ensure all Brothers are equipped with the tools for professional success.
